According to the latest reports, the Mumbai Police proclaimed that the city has attained the recognition from the "India Book of Records" as well as the "Asia Book of Records" for the participation of the maximum number of people in a cycle rally.

Based on accounts, this cycle rally was held on June 5, on the occasion of the World Environment Day wherein over 5,000 people participated. The cycle rally reportedly covered a distance of 95.65 km for four hours and went through the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

It has been reported that the rally was part of the Sunday Streets that the Mumbai Police has been organising since March 2022. The cycle rally is believed to have commenced at 5.30 am and finished at 9.30 am.

Narratives suggest cyclists in participation hailed from various parts of the city and met at Bandra reclamation. They later passed through the Bandra Worli Sea Link, followed by the Worli Sea face and finished at Mahalaxmi's Race Course.

Raj Tilak Roushan, deputy commissioner of police reportedly expressed his gratitude and congratulated all Mumbaikars for their monumental participation. He was quoted in narratives elaborating on how the event epitomized that the citizens are on the same page as the Mumbai Police when it comes to protecting the environmental by selecting other means of transportation like cycling.
