
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Central Railway has always been at the forefront in not only keeping a round-the-clock vigil in safeguarding railway properties but also playing multiple roles.
The RPF Personnel have shown exemplary dedication and alertness in ensuring passenger safety and security during the period from January 1, 2026, to April 30, 2026. Through sustained efforts under its key operations, RPF personnel have saved lives, rescued vulnerable children and adults and returned lost belongings to rightful passengers.
1. Operation Nanhe Faristey – Reuniting Lost Children with their Families
RPF’s “Operation Nanhe Faristey” continued its humanitarian mission of safeguarding and rescuing runaway, missing, or destitute children found at railway premises. From January to April 2026, RPF Central Railway rescued 499 children, comprising 331 boys and 168 girls, and reunited them with their families or handed them over to Child Welfare Committees/NGOs. This initiative reflects RPF’s commitment to child protection on railway premises.

2. Operation Dignity – Protection & Care of Needy Vulnerable Adults
RPF’s “Operation Dignity” continued its humanitarian initiatives, of extending care and protection to needy and vulnerable persons found on railway premises. The operation focuses on identifying and rescuing men and women in distress, ensuring timely assistance and rehabilitation. From January to April 2026, RPF Personnel rescued a total of 85 persons, comprising 38 men and 47 women, who were in need of care and protection.

3. Operation Jeevan Raksha – Saving Precious Lives
Under “Operation Jeevan Raksha,” RPF staff displayed exceptional vigilance and courage in saving the lives of passengers who slipped while trying to board or de-board moving trains. . From January to April 2026, a total of 25 lives were saved across Central Railway. This includes 20 male and 5 female passengers. The alertness & prompt action of RPF personnel has helped prevent untoward incidents on multiple occasions at railway stations and save lives.

Central Railway appeals to passengers to avoid boarding or de-boarding moving trains, take care of their belongings and inform RPF or any on Duty Railway personnel or dial Helpline 139 if they notice any lost, destitute, mentally unsound, or distressed child / adult person on railway premises.
