Fire brigade teams quickly reached the spot and worked to control the flames. The fire caused heavy smoke, which spread through parts of the building and created panic among residents. Several people were safely evacuated.
During the incident, a 72-year-old woman was rescued from the affected flat and rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Initial reports suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit or a household item catching fire, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
Authorities have stated that the situation was brought under control after firefighting efforts, and further inquiries are ongoing.
