Mumbai Metro line 2A and 7 achieved its highest single-day ridership on July 8 as 3.01 lakh commuters availed the Metro services.
This is the highest single-day passengers recorded till date since commencement of operations and marks a milestone in the Metro network, according to the officials.
Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA and Chairman, Maha Mumbai Metro said, "Maha Mumbai Metro has crossed 3 lakh daily rider for the first time ever. This significant milestone reflects Mumbai’s growing bond with Maha Mumbai Metro. My heartfelt thanks to the people of Mumbai and congratulations to our dedicated team for making this possible."

Additionally, on the same day, Maha Mumbai Metro also made another record–usage of paperless tickets on WhatsApp.

A total of 62,282 riders made use of the ticketing service based on WhatsApp, which the authority asserts is the maximum since the facility came into operation. Maha Mumbai Metro said that nearly 20% of its total ticket sales are conducted via WhatsApp, representing the highest in the country among Metro systems to be implemented on this platform.
