A nurse and security guards were allegedly assaulted by relatives of a patient at KEM Hospital, triggering protests by hospital staff and raising fresh concerns over the safety of healthcare workers.
According to hospital authorities, the incident began with a dispute between the patient’s family and staff, which escalated into violence. The accused allegedly attacked the nurse and on-duty security personnel, causing panic within the premises.
In response, doctors, nurses, and other hospital employees staged a protest, demanding stricter security measures and better protection at the facility. They said repeated instances of violence against medical staff are a serious concern.
Police have taken note of the incident and initiated action against those involved, while hospital authorities have assured that steps will be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future.
