Doctors at Narayana Health SRCC Children’s Hospital have successfully performed a complex and rare heart surgery on an eight-year-old child, saving the patient’s life.

The child was diagnosed with an unusual congenital heart defect, commonly described as a “hole in the heart,” which was significantly affecting blood circulation and oxygen supply in the body. Due to the rarity and complexity of the condition, the case posed a major challenge for the medical team.

According to hospital officials, the surgery required meticulous planning and advanced surgical expertise. If left untreated, the defect could have led to severe complications or proved fatal.

The team of specialists carried out the delicate procedure to repair the abnormal opening and restore normal heart function. The operation was completed successfully, and the child is currently recovering well under medical supervision.

Doctors termed the case a significant achievement, highlighting the importance of timely diagnosis and intervention in treating congenital heart conditions.
