Mumbai: Passenger was arrested for smoking on the plane

A passenger has been arrested for smoking on the plane during the Jaipur-Mumbai flight. The arrested accused has been identified as Arjun Ram Thalor (34) and is a resident of Rajasthan. The police informed that a case has been registered against the accused in the Sahar Police Station under the Aviation Act, 1937.


Complainant Om Ramesh Deshmukh lives in the Asalfa area of Ghatkopar. He has been working as an Associate Security Officer in an airline for the past five years. A flight bound for Mumbai took off from Jaipur airport at 6:45 pm on Saturday. Arjun Thalor was a passenger in it. A no-smoking sign was posted on the plane where all passengers could see it. Also, before the flight took off from Jaipur, senior employee Kajol Ghag had announced that smoking is prohibited on the plane. Still at 37-year-old Arjun went to the toilet and smoked. A woman working there noticed this and informed her superiors.

As soon as the plane landed at the Mumbai airport, he was handed over to the airport security guard. He was then handed over to Sahar Police. Arjun Thalor was arrested by the police as soon as a case was registered under the Aircraft Act, 1937 in this case.
