In the aftermath of yesterday's serial blasts at a prayer meeting in Kalamassery, Kerala, security has been heightened across the nation, especially in Delhi and Mumbai.

The Mumbai Police have issued a high alert and increased security measures. The Jewish facility in Mumbai, Chabad House, has also ramped up its security.

Similarly, police security is always present in sensitive and highly sensitive areas of Mumbai. The suspects are being interrogated thoroughly.

Serial Blasts in Kerala

The explosion of a bomb claimed one life and seriously injured dozens more. The blasts occurred at a convention centre during a Jehovah's Witness prayer meeting. The incident left one person dead and thirty-six injured. The gathering attracted nearly 2,000 attendees and was located about 10 kilometres from Kochi in Kalamassery. Kerala Police have confirmed that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the incident. The device was reportedly placed inside a tiffin box. A special investigation team (SIT) will be formed to probe the matter.

Home Minister Amit Shah's Response

Following the blasts, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had a telephonic conversation with Home Minister Amit Shah. The Home Minister has directed the heads of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG) to send expert teams to the site for investigation.
