Thanks to Youtube, a 66-year-old man who has been missing for the last 40 years was spotted in Mumbai’s Bandra by his family members in a video. Khomdram Gambhir Singh was 26 when he left his residence in Manipur.

Earlier in November last year, Mumbai-based photographer Firoze Shakir shot a video of Singh’s singing and uploaded the video on YouTube. Singh’s family found out about him after their neighbours showed them this video. The family then informed the police in Imphal, who coordinated with the Bandra police to locate the missing man.

The police informed that it is unclear that if the man was here in Mumbai for the last 40 years and will interview his family members to verify.

However, Singh’s nephew Raghumanu Khomdram told the media that he served in Imphal Rifles. He further said that the family had no idea about him until now but have found him after losing all hopes. Singh was reported missing from Imphal in 1978. Singh’s fondness towards old Bollywood songs helped him reunite with his family.

Thanks to the social media influence and Mumbai Police's coordination, the man was reunited with his family after 40 long years.
