According to the latest reports, on Tuesday, June 14, afternoon, three from a group of four students including a minor are feared to have drowned at the Juhu beach. One is reported that have survived with the assistance of a lifeguard, however, three others got sucked by a strong current of waves. Efforts are underway to trace them.

Based on accounts, the mishap transpired between 2.30 pm and 3 pm. The police added that all the four friends were from Chembur's Vashi Naka from Aman Ashiyana society. Their names are reported to be Aman Singh, Kaustubh Gupta, Pratham Gupta and Abhishek Sharma who were 21, 18, 16 and 18 respectively. 

It has been reported that the four entered the Juhu beach from a lane which is almost 500 meters away from the beach near J W Marriott and Tulip Hotel in Santacruz (West) on the Juhu Tara Road.

Narratives suggest that during the incident, there was a low tide. However, when they came to the beach together they were pulled in by the waves. While Sharma was able to swim ashore with the assistance of a lifeguard, his other friends are feared to have drowned.

Authorities include the likes of the Indian Coast Guard and fire brigade attempted to search for them with divers and a helicopter. It is anticipated that the rescue operations will begin early on Wednesday, June 15.
