The Mumbai Police on Thursday, December 26, announced temporary traffic and parking arrangements on Khan Abdul Gafar Khan Road in Worli and shared complete list of traffic rules in the area.

The decision was taken following a significant reduction in traffic after the opening of the Dharmaveer Swarajyarakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road, also known as Mumbai Coastal Road.

The official statement mentioned that the road stretch from J. K. Kapoor Circle to Bindu Madhav Junction is considered wide enough to allow limited parking without affecting traffic movement.

The temporary traffic arrangement will remain in force until March 25, 2026.

As per the latest notification issued, earlier this road had been temporarily stayed. Instead, a new temporary 'No Parking' order has been issued to ensure safety and convenience for pedestrians and motorists. Parking will be strictly prohibited at sensitive locations such as school gates, bus stops, zebra crossings and building entrances.

The order has been issued by Dr Dipali Dhate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ & Central), Traffic Mumbai, under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

Parking will not be allowed at the following places:

  • Near Green Lawns School gate – from 7.00 am to 12.00 pm
  • National Association for the Blind (India), from Electric Pole No. 2 to 21 – 24 hours
  • Near Worli Sea Face BMC School gate, from Electric Pole No. 19 to 17 – 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm
  • In front of all residential building gates – 24 hours
  • At all zebra crossings – 24 hours
  • From Coastal Road north-bound exit to J. K. Kapoor Circle – 24 hours
  • From Bindu Madhav Junction to BEST bus stop (north-bound) – 24 hours

The Mumbai Traffic Police have appealed to motorists to strictly follow the new parking rules to avoid inconvenience, obstruction and penalties.
