The Mumbai Traffic Police on January 5 issued an advisory for motorists commuting within and/or to Andheri due to major infrastructure works at two locations.
The work of installing pillars for a flyover is in progress on C. D. Barfiwala Road between Tipu Sultan Junction and Gulmohar Junction.
The said flyover pillars are located in the central portion of the northbound carriageway of C. D. Barfiwala Road between Tipu Sultan Junction and Gulmohar Junction.
Due to ongoing flyover pillar construction using heavy machinery on C. D. Barfiwala Road, the northbound carriageway between Tipu Sultan Junction and Gulmohar Junction will remain temporarily closed. Due to excavation work and the use of heavy machinery required for pillar construction, there is a likelihood of obstruction to traffic and heavy traffic congestion.
Road Closure:
In the interest of traffic safety and smooth traffic management, the northbound carriageway of C. D. Barfiwala Road between Tipu Sultan Junction and Gulmohar Junction is being temporarily closed.
Alternative Route
Vehicles proceeding on the northbound carriageway of C. D. Barfiwala Road from Tipu Sultan Junction shall take a left turn at Tipu Sultan Junction and proceed via Juhu Lane - Juned Nagar - Gulmohar Junction, and thereafter towards JVPD.
As the bridge over Mogra Nala at Veera Desai Road, Dhake Colony has become dilapidated, it will be demolished and reconstructed. Due to the demolition work, traffic at the said location will be completely closed.

Road closure:
The stretch of Veera Desai Road from Gopinath Munde Garden to Garden Court will be temporarily closed for all types of vehicles.
Alternate Route:
Vehicles proceeding on the southbound carriageway of Veera Desai Road will be diverted via Court Yard Junction - Chitrakoot Junction - New Link Road. While vehicles coming via J. P. Road will be diverted to New Link Road instead of Veera Desai Road, they can proceed further towards their respective destinations.
The above traffic restrictions shall remain in force until the completion of the flyover pillar installation work and demolition and reconstruction work of the bridge over the Mogra Nala is completed.
The motorists are hereby requested to take note of these temporary traffic changes and extend cooperation to the traffic police.
