Mumbai: Traffic police registers 732 cases against motorists for driving in opposite direction

Mumbai Police is conducting a special campaign against motorists driving in the opposite direction, under which 732 cases have been registered and the related vehicles have been seized. Police said that action has been taken under Section 718 of IPC.


The Mumbai Traffic Control Branch has been receiving complaints from citizens that some drivers are driving their vehicles in the opposite direction. It was observed that such drivers are violating traffic rules by driving in the opposite direction and endangering their lives as well as others. Accordingly, Mumbai Police conducted a special campaign from June 15 to June 23 to prevent motorists driving in the opposite direction and to discipline them.

In this campaign, 732 cases have been registered for driving in the opposite direction. A case has been registered under Section 718 of the IPC and the police have seized the vehicles involved. On this occasion, the police also appealed to all the citizens to follow the traffic rules and travel in a disciplined and safe manner.
