In recent developments, the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) started a dynamic test and trial run of the first prototype train on the 20 km stretch between Dhanukarwadi and Aarey on Metro corridors 2A and 7.

According to reports, the dynamic trials are different from the trials that began earlier this month, which were being conducted manually. On Saturday, the dynamic trials were conducted with the integration of the Traction Control and Management System, with the train being operated by an automated system. Moreover, the officials stated that during the dynamic trial run period, the prototype train set of six cars will run at various speeds.

On the other hand, the MMRDA recently informed that the citizens of Mumbai will now be able to travel by metro, buses and monorail through a single ticket. Moreover, it stated that it has decided to implement an integrated ticketing system for Metro 2 Dahisar to DN Nagar and Dahisar to Andheri Metro 7. Meanwhile, metro trains are currently being tested on both these routes.

The integrated ticketing system was reportedly planned several years ago. However, the wait for the same seems to finally come to an end. An integrated ticketing system is beneficial for the passengers to save travel time, travel expenses as well as to get to the destination and options as soon as possible.
