While the air level in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and the surrounding cities is rapidly decreasing, it has once again come to light that hundreds of tonnes of road construction going on in Mumbai is being dumped in different areas of Navi Mumbai. From Vashi and Airoli toll booths, vehicles full of debris are seen leaving towards the closed stone quarries in Navi Mumbai MIDC as well as Ulve, Vahal and Dronagiri without taking any precautions to control pollution.

Large scale construction projects are going on in the Mumbai area. The waste generated from this project is always dumped in different cities of Navi Mumbai and Thane district both officially and illegally. As soon as he was transferred, the transport resumed. The issue of air pollution in Mumbai has been continuously discussed for the past few days.

In the early days, the debris that was being brought from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai was emptied in the MIDC area as well as in the open areas adjacent to some villages. Some political office bearers in Navi Mumbai had started planning the place for emptying debris by taking the contract in this regard. Transporters are awarded contracts worth lakhs of rupees by builders and companies to dispose of sewage from construction sites in Mumbai.

Although the municipal corporation has set up a centre for processing construction waste in Mumbai, since the quantity is very large, contractors are looking for places to dispose of most of the construction waste. In the meantime, hundreds of vehicles used to travel through Navi Mumbai through Ulwe and surrounding areas after getting the contract to fill the land required for the creation of some new towns in the area and the Navi Mumbai airport area. For this, many had obtained a no objection certificate from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
