Under the guidance of Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, emphasis is being laid on public awareness with regards to the usage of plastic. Along with that, penal action is being taken against those who use plastic bags and restrictive plastics.


In this raid, plastic bags and prohibited plastic were found in 15 shops in Sector 48 Market, Sector 23 Darave, Sector 11 Belapur, and a total of 30 kg of plastic bags and prohibited plastic stock was seized from them and a penalty amount of INR 80k was recovered.

In the last 11 days from July 1, 237 shops were raided in the entire municipal area and 699 kg of restricted plastic including plastic bags were seized and a penalty amount of INR 3.45 lakh was recovered.
