Property tax is an important source of revenue of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and various civic facilities are being done from the funds received through property tax. In that regard, planning steps are being taken to achieve the goal of property tax recovery.
Under the 'Malmattakar Abhay Yojana' announced on February 29, 2024 itself, from March 21 to March 31, 2024, only 50% of the penalty along with the arrears of property tax will have to be paid. That means a 50 percent discount will be given in the penalty amount. Therefore, on behalf of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, it is appealing that the citizens should take advantage of the Property Tax Abhay Yojana and get a substantial discount on the penalty amount on the outstanding property tax.
Similarly, citizens are also requested to contribute to the development of the city by paying their existing property tax before March 31 within the prescribed time. In order to enable the citizens to pay their property tax in an easy manner, civic facilities centres and property tax payment centres in all the eight divisional offices of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be functioning during office hours even on holidays till March 31. However, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is appealing to the arrear property tax holders to get 50 percent discount on the penalty under Abhay Yojana and pay their arrear property tax similarly to pay the property tax of the current year before March 31 and contribute to the development of the city.
