Giving priority to cleanliness and beautification, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has always been at the forefront of implementing innovative sanitation initiatives. One such innovative toilet has been constructed at Koparkhairane, Sector 14 under the concept of sustainability from waste.


An 85-key computer board has been used for toilet decoration. Also, 284 kg of scrap metal has been used for the attractive vehicle model created in front of the toilet. A picturesque fountain has been erected in front of the toilet and treated sewage water is being used for this fountain. In all such matters waste materials have been used and this toilet is a perfect example of the 3R concept.

The 75 sq.m. area toilet construction has 4 toilets and 1 bathroom and 3 toilets for men. Also 3 toilets and 1 bathroom and 1 baby toilet have been arranged for women. Baby care facility as well as a sanitary pad vending machine, incinerator, hand dryer are provided in the toilet system for women. City Engineer Sanjay Desai informed that a separate toilet has been arranged for the physically challenged.


A similar type of aspirational toilet has been set up near Dharan Lake in Sector 19 Kopar Khairane and through this Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has created a new innovation of sustainable design from waste.
