Ahead of the much-anticipated Coldplay concert scheduled at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, Nerul, on January 18, 19, and 21, the Navi Mumbai traffic department has issued an advisory to ensure smooth traffic movement for the general public and safety of all the attendees.

These traffic restrictions, which include vehicular movement and parking, will remain in place around the venue from 2 pm to 12 am on all days of the concert (January 18, 19, and 21).

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, announced the measures under Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The key directive prohibits heavy vehicles, including trucks and goods carriers, from entering, travelling, or parking on roads within the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate's jurisdiction during the event days.

"Necessary arrangements will ensure the smooth passage of emergency and essential services, such as ambulances, fire brigades, and government vehicles," he assured.

DCP Kakade urged commuters to avoid roads near the stadium and plan their routes in advance to steer clear of congestion.

Roads Closed:

LP Bridge to Shivaji Chowk

Shivaji Chowk to Shani Mandir Arch

Shani Mandir Arch to Bhimashankar Cut Service Road

Service road from Raheja Corner (Shiravane) to Punyagari

Alternative Routes:

People heading to the stadium can use Nerul Station Road to Shivaji Chowk and then take a left towards Palm Beach Road to reach their destination.

Moreover, proceed via Uran Phata Bridge towards Apollo Hospital and then take a right turn to the destination.

For those affected by the Raheja Corner to Punyagari closure, the Sion-Panvel Highway can be used as an alternative route.

Vehicles heading to Navi Mumbai from Mumbai are advised to take the Airoli route instead of the Vashi bridge.

Commuters travelling towards Pune can use the Mumbra bypass, while local traffic is encouraged to use the internal roads of Navi Mumbai during restricted hours.

Key routes to avoid include Uran Road, Palm Beach Road and the Eastern Express Highway towards Vashi.

For a hassle-free commute, travellers can opt for the Thane-Belapur Road, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) or JVLR and Airoli Bridge if coming from Western Mumbai.
