Navy officer saves a drowning youngster at Marine Drive

Navy officer Dhananjay risked his life to save the drowning youngster at Marine Drive. Currently, the youngster is being treated at a government hospital and the Marine Drive Police are investigating to know about his identity.

On Sunday night, a drowning youngster was saved by a navy officer at Marine Drive in South Mumbai. The police said that the youngster was found unconscious after he was rescued and eventually, was rushed to a government hospital. The youngster hasn’t been identified yet and so, officials are still trying to track his relatives. 

Tourists and Mumbaikars visit Marine Drive, which is one of the prime attractions of the city. In order to ensure the safety of people, the police and navy officials have been appointed. On September 9, navy officers, Akash (diver), Dhananjay Seaman (swimmer) and Vishwakarma (Marine Commando) were patrolling the sea as usual. 

Suddenly, they witnessed someone drowning 150 metres away from the coast. Without waiting, the officials contacted the Police Control Room and asked for assistance. Meanwhile, they turned the boat in the direction of the drowning teenager. However, the boat was unable to go any further and so, Dhananjay jumped into the sea to save the drowning youngster.

After which, the youngster was saved from drowning and when the police arrived, he was shifted to a government hospital.
