In Maharashtra, while the number of patients affected by the coronavirus is diminishing, the state government has decided to relax some of the curbs.

According to the new guidelines issued by the state government on August 2, except for 14 districts in the state, all shops in other districts have been allowed to open till 8 pm instead of 4 pm on weekdays. On Saturdays, these shops can remain open till 3 pm, but on Sundays, only essential shops can function, the rest will remain closed.

Public gardens and playgrounds, on the other hand, can be opened for exercise, while cinema halls and theatres will remain closed for the time being. Government and private offices can function at their full capacity. Moreover, restrictions on movement will be enforced from 9 pm to 5 am.

Gyms, yoga centres, parlours, spa's can function without utilizing air-conditioners, at 50% capacity till 8 pm on weekdays and on Saturdays till 3 pm. These services will remain closed on Sundays. Restaurants can operate at 50% seating capacity till 4 pm on weekdays whilst adhering to COVID-l9 protocols. Parcel and Takeaway will be allowed as of now.

Regions in Maharashtra where the Level 3 restrictions will remain in force include Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Pune, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Beed, Raigad and Palghar.

Owing to the higher emergence of fresh cases in areas of Sindudurg, Satara and Ahmednagar, the respective disaster management authorities have been asked to impose effective restrictions.
