Night-time parties and noise in Sanjay Gandhi National Park's Yeoor Hills area are now likely to be curbed. Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar ordered the forest department and the police to close the Yeoor Hills entrance from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Also, the Thane Municipal Corporation has been ordered to put a signboard on the illegal hotel stating that it is illegal.

A large number of illegal hotels have been set up in Yeoor Hills over the past few years. Even though the area of Yeoor Hills is an ecologically sensitive and peaceful area as it is part of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, many hotels operate illegally in the area post 11:00 pm. Loud loudspeakers are also played in this hotel. Also, the hotel is brightly lit throughout the night. Due to this, the tribal residents are claiming that nocturnal animals and birds have disappeared. Also, the residents of this place had to suffer from the vehicles of tourists from outside.

In this regard, the tribals of Yeoor Hills had met Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar through the Forest Rights Committee. A few days after this visit, Mungantiwar held a meeting with the municipal officials in this regard at Sahyadri guest house. During the meet, the municipal officials had admitted that there are 180 illegal constructions in Yeoor Hills. Mungantiwar held a meeting again on Thursday. The meeting was attended by MLA Jitendra Awhad, Thane Municipal Corporation officials, Forest Department officials, Police and Forest Rights Committee members. In this meeting, it was decided to completely close the entry in Yeoor Hills from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

He also ordered the deployment of police personnel to assist the forest department, and to take action against those violating the peace zone rules. A few days ago, the municipal officials had a meeting with Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar. In this meeting, Thane Municipal Corporation officials were ordered to take action against illegal constructions in Yeoor Hills . However, it is understood that the Forest Minister expressed his displeasure as no action was taken even after ten days.
