The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that all the machines are in proper condition in the EVM inspection and verification process conducted after the 2024 general elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
EVMs passed all tests
As per the Commission's instructions dated June 17, 2025, the State Chief Electoral Officer S. Chokkalingam inspected the Voter Unit (BU), Control Unit (CU) and VVPAT in 10 Assembly constituencies at the request of 10 candidates.
All the machines passed the diagnostic tests. No discrepancy was found between the VVPAT slips and the EVM results. 8 candidates or their representatives were present during the process and witnessed the verification. A total of 48 voting units, 31 control machines and 31 VVPATs were inspected. Two candidates refused to attend.
All doubts about EVMs are false
In some constituencies (Kopri-Pachpakhadi, Thane, Khadakwasla, Majalgaon) diagnostic tests were conducted to verify microcontroller and memory. A mock poll was conducted along with diagnostic tests on the machines in Panvel, Alibaug, Arni, Yeola, Chandgad, Kolhapur North and the rest of Majalgaon. Also Read: CIDCO to Develop Integrated and Sustainable Mobility Plan for Navi Mumbai and NAINA
