The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Labour Exam was successfully conducted for 1388 vacancies left for 'Group D' posts. A total of 3.68 lakh applicants applied for these vacancies, out of which 2.87 lakh applications were approved. Now that the examination has been conducted, the General Department of BMC has notified that if any information filed by an applicant is found incorrect, then his candidacy will be cancelled immediately and the next applicant in sequence will be considered.

Besides this, the general department informed further saying that the final list of all 1388 candidates who have cleared the examination will be made first. The department further said that no waiting list of any kind will be made for the recruitment examination.

Earlier, when the BMC started recruiting workers, a waiting list of all 938 candidates, who had made it through the examination with cent per cent result, was made. However, these candidates were not appointed anywhere even after a year, following which the candidates filed a petition in the court. Learning the lesson, the BMC has decided not to put up any waiting list this time.

An official from the general department said that if any of the 1388 passed candidates are rejected for some reason, then the next candidate will be selected in sequence.

The exam for  Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai BMC Recruitment 2018 was held from February 15 to February 25. The exam was for various posts such as Hamal, Room Attendant, Aayah, Worker, Labour, Multipurpose Hand, Crematorium workers.
