The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has decided to conduct a 24-hour shut down for the immediate repair and maintenance purpose of water treatment plant pipelines near Jambhul.

Therefore, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced that there would be water cut from 12 noon on Thursday, January 7 to 12 noon on Friday, January 8. The water will be suspended in various areas of Thane in two phases, said, officials.

According to reports, there will be a water cut for 24 hours in areas such as Kalwa, Kharegaon, Parsik Nagar, Aatkoneshwar Nagar, Gholai Nagar, Retibandar, Vitawa, Mumbra, Diva, Shil, Kausa, Daighar, Desai, Indiranagar, Rupa Devi pada, Wagle Fire Brigade, Balkum Pada No. 1.

Apart from this, the water supply will be cut from 9 am on Friday, January 8, to 9 am on Saturday, January 9 under Thane Municipal Corporation's own scheme. As the replacement of inlet air valve at Sri Nagar Jalkumbh aqueduct will take place along with the fixing of cross-connection of Viviana Jalkumbh inlet aqueduct and removal of water leakage on the main aqueduct at Mahatma Phule Nagar.

The areas that would be impacted by this are Siddheshwar, Johnson & Johnson, Samata Nagar, Eternity mall, Thane Jail Premises, Saket, Ritupark, Ghodbunder Road, Kothari Compound, Indiranagar, Lokmanya Nagar, Gandhinagar, Kisan Nagar, Sri Nagar, Wagle Estate, part of Kalva and Mumbra.

Thanekars have been requested to make arrangements to counter the inconvenience. The civic body has asked the residents to store water and use it carefully for two days post the water cut as the demand for water would be high once supply resumes and the flow of water cut be affected.
