Mumbai to face water cut on December 3, 4

This announcement came days after the existing 1450 mm diameter Tansa (East) main water channel had burst affecting water supply in Bandra and Mahim.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on November 27 announced that some parts of Prabhadevi, Lower Parel, Mahim and Dadar will not get water supply or low-pressure supply on December 2 and 3. The municipal corporation said that they will be fixing leakages in a British-era 1,450mm Tansa water main at Gawde Chowk on Senapati Bapat Road.

This announcement came days after the existing 1450mm diameter Tansa (East) main water channel had burst affecting water supply in Bandra and Mahim.

The repairing of leakage work will begin from 8 am on December 2 and will be concluded by 2 pm on December 3. Therefore, BMC has urged the citizens of the concerned areas to store enough water the day before. The administration has appealed to cooperate with the municipal administration during the leak repair period and use water for essential purposes only.

There will be no water supply in these areas:

1. G South – NM Joshi Road, BDD Chawl Prabhadevi, Janata Vasahat in Adarsh Nagar.

Timings -- On Wednesday, December 2 between 3.30 pm to 7 pm

  2. G North --  Kaka Saheb Gadgil Marg, Senapati Bapat Marg, Gokhale Marg, Veer Savarkar Marg, L. J. Marg, Sayani Marg, Bhavani Shankar Marg, Sena Bhavan Complex, Mori Marg, T. H. Kataria Marg, Textile Market

Timings – December 2, Wednesday between 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 10 pm 

 3. G South -- NM Joshi Marg, BDD Chawl, Sakharam Bala Pawar Marg, Mahadev Palav Marg

Timings – On Thursday, December 3 between 4.30 am to 7.45 am

Low-pressure Water supply will be experienced in these areas: Dhobi Ghat and Saat Rasta on Thursday, December 3 from 4 am to 7 am.
