In a move aimed at improving civic grievance redressal ahead of the monsoon season, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has enabled residents to register complaints about road potholes through its integrated platform, MyBMC MARG.
The MyBMC MARG (Complaint Management and Redressal System) platform was launched earlier this year to provide citizens with a single window for lodging and tracking complaints related to various municipal services. With the latest update, pothole-related complaints have also been brought under the platform, allowing residents to report road damage and monitor the status of repairs through one application.
According to the civic body, the platform currently supports 114 categories of civic complaints, covering services such as solid waste management, sewerage, water supply, road maintenance, public health, pest control, gardens and parks, encroachments, and street lighting.
The decision comes as mumbai prepares for the monsoon season, a period when heavy rainfall often leads to the formation of potholes across city roads. BMC officials said the integration is expected to speed up complaint handling and improve coordination among departments.
Last year, the civic body had introduced a dedicated mobile application called Pothole QuickFix, which allowed residents to report potholes by uploading photographs and location details. While the app received a positive response, citizens still needed to use different platforms for complaints related to other civic services.
To simplify the process, BMC has now merged the Pothole QuickFix service into MyBMC MARG, creating a unified grievance redressal system.
Residents using the platform can file complaints, upload supporting photographs, track the progress of their grievances, monitor actions taken by the concerned department, and receive updates until the issue is resolved. Officials said the integrated system is designed to make complaint management more transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
For pothole complaints, the BMC has advised residents to upload clear photographs, provide the exact location of the damaged road, and include relevant details to help authorities verify and address the issue quickly.
The MyBMC MARG application is available for download on both Android and iOS devices. The civic body has encouraged Mumbaikars to use the platform for reporting potholes as well as other municipal issues across the city.
