The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has introduced discounted travel passes for students and tourists on Aqua Line, which runs between Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ. It came into effect on April 8.

The move is aimed at making Mumbai Metro 3 travel more affordable while promoting the use of digital, contactless ticketing systems.

Under the new fare structure, students up to Class 12 are eligible for a 25 per cent discount on both 45-trip and 60-trip passes. These passes will remain valid for 30 days from the date of activation.

Additionally, to cater to visitors exploring the city, the Aqua Line has also introduced unlimited travel tourist passes. A one-day business pass is priced at ₹280, while a three-day pass costs ₹700.

These passes are likely to benefit domestic and international tourists looking for convenient and cost effective ways to navigate Mumbai’s key locations.

The new passes are available exclusively through the National Common Mobility Card. They are designed to encourage digital, contactless commuting while offering financial relief to frequent and short term travellers.

Alongside the newly introduced concessions, existing discounts on regular trip passes remain in place. Commuters can avail a 10 per cent discount on 45-trip passes and a 15 per cent discount on 60-trip passes. Special provisions also continue for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), who are eligible for a 25 per cent discount on both 45-trip and 60-trip passes, aligning with the broader goal of inclusive public transport.
