Old tree falls, damages mosque

Bandra - A 150 year old tree fell on the Hazrat Nizamuddin Shah Kadri dargah at Bandra west. Sources say the tree collapsed since the Navpada Masjid and Santacruz Golibar Dargah Trust has been digging around the tree for the past one month with the help of a JCB machine. The tree fell and damaged the dargah. Meanwhile, resident Aasif Khan has alleged that the soil is being dug out for commercial purposes. However, senior PI Pandit Thakre of Bandra police station said he would speak to the civic gardens department and take action against the authority concerned.
