Palghar: Three drowned during Ganpati immersion in Wada

Three people allegedly drowned in two separate incidents during Ganpati immersion at Wada in Palghar district on Wednesday.


Jagat Narayan Maurya (38 years) and Suraj Nandlal Prajapati (25 years) drowned in a lake in Konsai village of Wada taluka during Ganesh immersion in the evening. Both of them were employees of Prem Ratan Udyog in Wada and were residents of Uttar Pradesh. With the help of local villagers, police recovered their bodies.

Prakash Narayan Thackeray (35 years) drowned in a lake at Gorhe in Wada taluka. Efforts are on to recover his body. Prakash Thackeray is a resident of Gorhe. The reason for their drowning is not yet known. PI Suresh Kadam has appealed to the public to exercise caution during the immersion of Lord Ganesha.
