Uncertain rainfall, cloudy weather has created a fertile environment for the growth of winter fever and dengue mosquitoes in September. As a result, last week, there was a huge increase in the number of cold and dengue patients in Mumbai. Dengue patients have increased in September compared to June, July and August.

Due to the constantly changing environment such as occasional rains, increasing heat, water is accumulating in Mumbai. This creates a fertile environment for the growth of Aedes and Anopheles mosquitoes, which are responsible for dengue and winter fever. As a result, there seems to be a significant increase in the number of dengue and winter fever patients in Mumbai for the past few days.

According to the report of monsoon-related diseases announced by the Public Health Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) 756 cases of winter fever and 703 cases of dengue have been reported on September 18. The number of patients in September is more compared to the previous three months. 676 cases of winter fever were found in June, 721 in July and 1,080 in August. Also, 353 dengue cases were found in June, 685 in July and 999 in August. Although there is an increase in the number of cold and dengue patients, the number of lepto, hepatitis, chikungunya, swine flu patients has decreased.
