Due to heavy rains in Ratnagiri, another incident of landslide has come to light at Parshuram Ghat. Due to this accident, the traffic on the Mumbai-Goa Highway has slowed down again. Parshuram Ghat is currently a dangerous road in Konkan. Along with the Mumbai-Goa quadrangle work, the work of levelling Parshuram Ghat has also been started. However, due to subsidence of Parshuram Ghat even during unseasonal rains, those going to Konkan and Goa have been advised to use alternate routes.


Alternate route

Presently the traffic is diverted from Lote-Chirni-Kalambaste-Chiplun road. If you want to avoid Parshuram Ghat and Khawati Ghat in Kashedi, you can go directly to Guhagar and Chiplun, Ratnagiri from Mumbai via Mahad-Latwan by ferry and from Dapoli to Dabhol-Dhopave and from Dhopave to Shringartali.

At present Parshuram Ghat is closed for a certain period for widening and levelling. But now due to the landslide, commuters are being advised to close it and proceed through an alternate route.
