Mumbai: 14 injured as under-construction flyover collapses in BKC

According to reports, nearly 14 people have suffered minor injuries after a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed in Mumbai in the early hours of Friday, September 17. 

The under-construction flyover connecting BKC main road and Santa Cruz-Chembur Link Road collapsed around 4:30 am.

All 14 have been rushed to civic-run VN Desai Hospital and they are in stable condition, said the disaster control cell of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The DCP further informed that there is no loss of life and no person is missing. Investigation as to how the accident occurred is underway. 

“There is no life loss and no person is missing," Manjunath Singe,  deputy commissioner of police, said as per ANI.

Moreover, another major incident took place in the wee hours on the same day in the city. A massive fire broke out at a scrapyard in Mumbai's Mankhurd area in the wee hours of Friday, September 17

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. As of now, no casualty has been reported in the incident. According to reports, the fire was doused within a few hours of the operation.
