In the wee hours of Monday night, a landslide was reported on an area near Salamati Hill. Thus, from four homes from Mukundrao Ambedkar Road, near GTB Nagar, people were evacuated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to some reports, civic officials state that nobody was injured, but as a precautionary measure, 28 people were moved from their homes. Whilst 16 of them moved to an adjacent municipal school, 12 of them moved to their relative’s homes as claimed by reports on the knowledge they received from the Disaster Management Department of the BMC.

This episode occurs in the backdrop of two landslides at Mahul and Vikhroli’s Surya Nagar area in Mumbai. On Tuesday, in the 24 hours up to 8 am, the authority had got six complaints either related to the house or residential wall collapse across the city.

At the same time, the civic authority also received 21 complaints of tree collapses, state reports. Additionally, 19 complaints of short circuits were also reported by the citizens.

On early Tuesday morning, some areas of Mumbai encountered waterlogging for a while. This is said to be attributed by reports to the heavy rainfall experienced after midnight in Kurla, Andheri, Chembur and central Mumbai.
