The District Collector has allowed the use of speakers till 12 in the midnight on the three days of Ganeshotsav this year. 15 days in a year from 6:00 am to 12 in the midnight, sound generators are allowed to be used. Out of these, the list of 11 days has been announced by the Suburban Collectorate, which includes two days of Navratri festival.

According to the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000, the use of sound absorbers or loudspeakers on certain days from 6:00 am to 12 midnight on the occasion of cultural or religious events in places other than enclosed spaces are allowed. Sound projectors can be used in places other than enclosed spaces like auditoriums, auditoriums, assembly halls and banquet rooms. According to the High Court order, the Collector's office has been empowered to fix days to allow the use of loudspeakers till late night. Accordingly, the collector office has announced the list of 11 out of 15 days under its jurisdiction.
These days there will be no limitation on loudspeakers
The list includes Shiv Jayanti, Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti, Maharashtra Day, three days of Ganeshotsav, two days of Navratri, the day of Lakshmi Puja in Diwali, 24th December, 31st December for Christmas. Four more days have been reserved for important events. On the day of Anant Chaturdashi itself, Eid-e-Milad is on 28th September and a discount has been given for it. But this day will be decided according to the moon sighting.
