To keep the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Mira Bahayandar in control, the lockdown has been imposed in the district. This lockdown will remain imposed till July 31. However, this decision was opposed by some political leaders and businessmen. The business community in the area wanted that they should be allowed to start operations as without work they will incur further losses. They insisted that their livelihood was getting impacted due to the extended lockdown. Keeping this in mind the MBMC has decided to provide some relaxations in the lockdown.

According to the rules set by the commissioner of Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) Vijay Rathod the shops will be allowed to be open based on the odd-even formula. However, this will be allowed only areas where the number of cases is not high. In containment zones and places with lot of cases have been excluded from this rule. People will definitely get some amount of relief with the relaxation in the lockdown.
