Fuel prices hiked again after a day's pause

The auto fuel prices have been raised for eighth time this month. State-run companies resumed daily revisions on May 4 after an over 18-day halt. In the last 10 days petrol price has been raised by INR 1.79 per litre and diesel by INR 2.04 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked again on Friday, May 14, after a hiatus of a day. While petrol has become costlier by 28-29 paise, diesel has been increased by 34-35 paise across the country.

The auto fuel prices have been raised for the eighth time this month. State-run companies resumed daily revisions on May 4 after an over 18-day halt. In the last 10 days, petrol price has been raised by INR 1.79 per litre and diesel by INR 2.04 per litre.

After the recent hike, petrol and diesel have become the most expensive in Mumbai amongst the metro cities. Petrol price will soon touch INR 100-mark in the financial capital if the rates continue to hike.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that petrol prices have gone beyond INR 100 in Bhopal and Anuppur in Madhya Pradesh, Sriganganagar in Rajasthan and Parbhani in Maharashtra.

After today’s hike, petrol is being sold at INR 98.65 per litre and diesel at INR 90.11 per litre in Mumbai.

Rates of Petrol-diesel in major cities

In Delhi, petrol is now priced INR INR 92.34 per litre. At the same time, diesel is priced at INR 82.95 per litre.

In Chennai, petrol is being sold at INR 94.09 per litre and diesel at INR 87.81 per litre.

One litre petrol and diesel in Kolkata is available at INR 92.44 and INR 85.79 respectively.

In Bhopal, petrol was sold at INR 100.38 per litre and diesel at INR 91.31 per litre.
