In an incident reported on Wednesday, November 13, a minor portion of a slab at Dadar's Tilak bridge fell on the road below. No casualties were reported. Officials barricaded the road and restricted the traffic movement restricted, however, the traffic on the bridge remained unaffected. BMC officials and the local corporated reached the spot to inspect the incident.

Dadar's Tilak bridge is one of the old bridges in the city and is used by many commuters. This 100-year old bridge connects Dadar East and West and is in the dangerous condition. Municipality officials have assigned the repair work to the contractors to ensure the bridge is safe for people to use. However, Western Railway's 'No Objection Certificate' is needed for the same and the repair work would begin post their confirmation.

It is also reported that many party councilors, at the Standing Committee meeting, have repeatedly demanded that the bridge should be repaired immediately and rebuilt. The bridge will be under repair for the next four days as the officials will be carrying out the much-needed plaster work.
