Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of 'Ekta Mall' (Unity Mall) at Ulwe node in Navi Mumbai through a remote online program on Tuesday. In the financial year 2023-24, the Center launched the PM-Ekta Mall initiative in every state and union territory, supported by the 'Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023-24' scheme, which includes interest-free loans.

The CIDCO has been entrusted with the project of 5,200 square metres on Plot No. 5 in Sector 12, Ulve. The mall will be developed as a cultural centre and tourist attraction. Center has provided INR 215 crores for this and completed this mall in 18 months.


The Center has earmarked INR 5,000 crore for Unity Malls across the country, with an incentive of at least INR 100 crore to each state. According to a CIDCO official, the mall will have six floors with two basements and parking facilities. Operation and maintenance will be provided on a public-private partnership basis.
