Parents Aghast As School Bus Delayed By Nearly Two Hours

According to reports, parents from Mumbai's Lilavatibai Podar High School in Santacruz reached the campus on Monday, April 4, afternoon since their children did not reach home even two hours after the school got over. However, later, the school administration confirmed that their wards are safe. 

Based on accounts, the police added that a communication gap caused the mishap. The parents were agitated and it was the first day of the new academic year. The delay caused those students plying by the school bus to not reach their homes in their expected time. 

An officer from the Santacruz police station was quoted in narratives elucidating how the bus was delayed by nearly two hours with 20 students in it. Since it was the first day of school and the bus employees were new, they were unaware of the route. Adding to this, the bus attendant's phone was unreachable leading to a communication gap. 

On the other hand, a statement was issued by the school management that elaborated on how they regret any inconvenience caused to the students and parents owing to the delay in the transport service experienced. The statement adds that they will be re-training the transport service to see to it that the transport service resumes normally in the days ahead. 

BJP leader, Ashish Shelar also claimed that the contractor has been suspended for their negligence. 

It has been reported that the Deputy Director of Education has asked the school management to submit an explanation of action undertaken after the occurrence.
