Deonar - The residents of Rafiq Nagar has protested against the action on slums-dwellers. They took out a morcha on M-East ward office on Friday to register their protest. A heavy police bandobast was deployed to avoid any untoward incident. The protestors informed that their agitation will continue till the BMC does not make any alternate arrangement for them. The BMC M-East’s anti-encroachment squad had razed 20 hutments in the said slums on Thursday. The concerned authorities had not given any intimation about their action and took away the roof on their head in the chilling cold, alleged the residents.
