The Cabinet meeting approved implementation of the old pension scheme for 23 rehabilitation centre employees who were working before November 1, 2005 and were taken over by the state government in the district as per the government decision dated July 12, 2007. The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The Maharashtra Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 1982 and Maharashtra Civil Service (Satisfaction of Pension) Rules, 1984 are applicable to the employees appointed before 1st November, 2005 in the Institution of Disabled Rehabilitation Center from the date of their original appointment. Once the old pension scheme for the employees of District Rehabilitation Centers is implemented, the CPF accumulated by them will be paid to the concerned employees along with the accrued interest.
Also, the CPF amount paid by the Central Government will be deposited in the account of the State Government along with the interest amount. The amount of retirement gratuity as well as pension amount payable by the government will be paid to the retired employees in three instalments.
