The Central Railways (CR) commuters faced another setback on the second consecutive day during peak hour after a rail fracture was reported at Govandi station on the down harbour line this morning, July 27.

As per CR officials, the incident took place at 7.50 am; however, fortunately no injuries have been reported. Meanwhile, it has come to light that after an hour, the down trains on Harbour line resumed after brief disruption. Though, immense crowd was witnessed at stations in the morning delaying passengers' commute to their offices/colleges.


Owing to this, many commuters were seen moving towards their destination walking on tracks to avoid delay, as per a video gone viral on Twitter.

Explaining further, CR officials stated that rail fractures due to corrosion or development of internal defects overtime etc., can be potential safety hazard.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, on Tuesday, July 26, morning, the Central Railways (CR), Mumbai division took to Twitter to share that the CSMT-Panvel local was ready to leave platform number one. However, it touched the dead-end of the same platform causing a derailment of one of the trollies of one rear-end coach. The same transpired at 9.39 am and no injury has been reported to anyone.
