Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, while addressing the media on Budget Allocation through video conferencing, stated that in the budget 2025-26, a record allocation of INR 23,778 crores has been provided for Maharashtra.
It is almost a 20 times more than the average allocation of INR 1171 crore per year given to Maharashtra during 2009-14.
Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway and other Divisional Railway Managers of Mumbai (Central Railway), Mumbai (Western Railway), Bhusaval, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Nanded (South Central Railway) & Nagpur (South East Central Railway) were present on the occasion at their respective headquarters.
The media representatives from, CSMT, Bhusaval, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Nanded and Mumbai Central joined through video conference.
Vaishnaw also said that Maharashtra leads the way as there is an tri-partite agreement between the Railways, State Government and the Reserve Bank of India, where, for all joined projects, the portion of the State Government will be funded by RBI. This will ensure faster execution of the Projects.
Redevelopment work under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is in progress at a fast pace at 132 stations in Maharashtra.
INR 1,70,000 crore worth of projects are presently under progress in the state of Maharashtra of which projects worth 17,107 crore, 301 Kms are under execution in Mumbai.
These projects include:
• CSMT –Kurla 5th & 6th line
• Panvel – Karjat double line suburban corridor
• Airoli – Kalwa elevated corridor
• Kalyan – Asangaon 4th line
• Kalyan – Kasara 3rd line
• Kalyan – Badlapur 3rd & 4th line
• Nilje – Kopar Double chord line
Capacity enhancement at CSMT, Parel, LTT, Kalyan and Panvel Terminus will be undertaken.
A Super App has been developed by integrating various railway apps and beta version of the same is available on Google playstore.
50 Namo Bharat trains, 100 Amrit Bharat Trains & 200 Vande Bharat Trains will be manufactured in this financial year.
An amount of INR 1,16,000 crores has been allotted for enhancement of safety.
With regard to High Speed Rail, he said 340 Kms of track is already completed and the work at BKC, other stations and undersea tunnel is fast progressing.
He also informed about the rapid pace in which Kavach 4.0 is being implemented across Indian Railways. Dharam Veer Meena later added that all broad gauge tracks of Central Railway will be equipped with Kavach.
Avanish Kumar Pandey, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), Arvind Malkhede, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Central Railway and Hiresh Mina, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division were present at CSMT during the Video Conference.
