Mumbai - With the state government deciding to convert the Mayor’s Bungalow at Shivaji Park into a memorial for Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray, the mayor will to shift home.
The residence of the first citizen of the city will now be the bungalow inside Rani Baug, better known as the premises that house the Byculla zoo. An official decision in this regard has already been taken. All related matters will be decided soon, BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta told Mumbai Live. Current mayor Snehal Ambekar’s tenure ends on March 9, 2017. This means Ambekar will have to spend her remaining two months in the bungalow at Rani Baug, another heritage structure like the Mayor's Bungalow.
