The Ministry of Railways has announced that the price of ‘Rail Neer’ packaged drinking water will be reduced because of a cut in GST (Goods and Services Tax) rates. The new prices will be effective from September 22.
New Prices for Rail Neer Bottles:
1-liter bottle: Price reduced from INR 15 to INR 14
500 ml (half-liter) bottle: Price reduced from INR 10 to INR 9
These new rates will be applied across all railway stations and trains in the country.
The Railway Ministry shared on social media (X) that the benefit of lower GST is being passed directly to consumers by reducing the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of Rail Neer bottles.
Applies to Other Brands Too
This price change also applies to other brands of packaged drinking water sold at railway stations and on trains, not just Rail Neer. The circular instructed that necessary action should be taken to enforce the new prices from the mentioned date.
