Owing to urgent repairing work of the subway, the Khar Golibar subway will be closed for road traffic between 10:00 pm to 05.00 am up to May 2, 2022.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Khar Golibar subway will remain closed for all types of Motor Vehicles and pedestrians coming from Vakola Junction and Santacruz station and Golibar Road towards Santacruz West up to May 2, 2022.

Accordingly, all types of vehicles coming from Vakola Jn., Santacruz station and Golibar Road towards Khar subway are diverted from Agripada Slip Road to Milan Subway.

Seven months ago, residents of Khar and Santacruz had signalled toward possible protest if the authorities had not addressed the dilapidated condition of the Khar subway.

The citizens and resident association had claimed that the subway required infrastructural development as well as a structural audit since it is causing a safety and security threat. They even warned the authorities that they will approach the court if action was not taken.

In other developments, Bandra and Khar, residents have been complaining about traffic congestion. To address this issue, the traffic department had implemented an odd-even parking system.
