The Mumbai Traffic Police has implemented temporary traffic changes in Sakinaka, Andheri East to facilitate cement concrete road work between MTNL Junction Road and the Mithi River. As part of the work, the stretch will be converted into a one-way route from March 18 to May 31, with only vehicles traveling towards the airport permitted.

Traffic moving from Hasanpada Junction towards MTNL Junction will be completely restricted and diverted via Hasanpada Road, eventually connecting to the Andheri–Ghatkopar Link Road. These changes are expected to impact daily commuters in the busy Sakinaka area, especially during peak hours, and motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and allow extra travel time.

At the same time, in Navi Mumbai, authorities have announced a temporary night closure on a key stretch of the Sion–Panvel Highway. The road between LP Bridge and Uran Phata Bridge near Nerul’s SBI Colony will remain fully closed from 12:10 AM to 4:00 AM on March 18 to enable the construction of a pedestrian foot overbridge.

The closure is short-term and scheduled during late-night hours to minimise disruption, but all vehicular movement on this stretch will be halted during the specified time. The update was shared by Deputy Commissioner of Police Tirupati Kakade, who has urged commuters to follow designated diversions and cooperate with traffic authorities. Overall, both measures are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements, though they may cause temporary inconvenience to travelers.
