The road has been opened for traffic from Friday morning as the work of installing the girder on Satis Bridge near Thane East Railway Station has been completed. Since this road was closed, the passengers had to walk up to one and a half kilometres every day to reach the station for the last 28 days. Now that this road has been opened for traffic, passengers have heaved a sigh of relief.

This bridge is being constructed to reduce the problem of traffic congestion in the Thane East station area. The work of installing beams on the pillars between Siddharthnagar and Viraj Tower of this flyover was taken up on July 26. To avoid any accidents during this work, the traffic police had closed this road for traffic till August 24.

Thane Transport Services Wagle Agar buses ply through this route via Borivali, Nalasopara and Ramnagar. Due to traffic changes, these buses were being released from Thane West station instead of Thane East. Also, various companies as well as private buses were allowed to ply up to Kopri Bara Bangla Circle.

Rickshaws as well as cars were moving towards the station via Mangala High School, Old Kopri Police Station, Kanhaiyanagar and Thanekar Wadi. Rickshaw drivers were charging INR 10 per passenger. As many could not afford these rickshaw fares, passengers preferred to go on foot. Women passengers suffered the most while travelling on foot. Therefore, passengers were demanding to complete this work as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the road has been opened for traffic since Friday morning as the work of installing beams on the Satis bridge has been completed.
