Mumbai – As many as 11 contractors have been issued notices in the road works scam after they were found guilty in the second round of investigations.
A report on 34 road works had blamed six contractors for shoddy works and chief engineer (roads) Ashok Pawar and vigilance chief Uday Murudkar were found guilty for their involvement in the scam. In the second round of investigations, the committee scrutinised the road works of 214 roads and exposed the scam worth Rs 350 crore. Out of 11 contractors, six were the earlier inducted into the scam. All these contractors have been blamed for irregularities in their works.
The companies issued show-cause notices in this scam include Relcon, Mahavir Roadways, R. K. Madhani, RPS Infra Projects, J. Kumar, K.R. Construction, Supreme Infrastructure, Prakash Engineer, New India Roadways, Priti Construction and Vitrag Construction.
